Privacy Policy

Last updated: 5 October 2026

This policy explains what information is handled when you visit clark-online.co.uk ("the site", "Clark"), and the choices you have. The site is a free information resource. You do not need an account to use it and we do not ask you for your name, email address or any other personal details.

Who we are

The site is operated by Clark. For anything to do with privacy or this policy, email josh@clark-online.co.uk.

Information we handle

  • Technical data. Like all websites, our hosting provider (Cloudflare) processes your IP address, browser type and the pages requested in order to deliver the site and keep it secure.
  • Visit statistics. We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to see how many people visit and which pages are read. It does not use cookies and does not identify individual visitors.
  • Your location, only if you ask. If you press "Find nearest A&E", your browser asks for permission to share your location. If you agree, your location is used in your browser to open a Google Maps search for nearby A&E departments. We do not receive or store it. Google handles that search under its own privacy policy.
  • Emails you send us. If you email us, we keep your message and address for as long as needed to reply and deal with your enquiry.

Advertising and cookies

The site may show adverts provided by Google AdSense to help cover running costs. When adverts are shown:

  • Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your previous visits to this site or other websites.
  • Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this site and/or other sites on the Internet.
  • You can opt out of personalised advertising at Google Ads Settings, or opt out of many third-party vendors' cookies at aboutads.info and youronlinechoices.com.
  • You can read how Google uses information from sites that use its services at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.

Visitors in the UK and EEA are asked for consent before advertising cookies are used. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings; the site will still work.

Other third parties

  • Google Fonts supplies the typefaces. Your browser requests them from Google, which sees your IP address.
  • Links to other organisations. The site links to charities, helplines and other services. We are not responsible for their content or how they handle your information.

Why we are allowed to do this

Under UK data protection law we rely on our legitimate interests in running, securing and understanding the use of the site, and on your consent for your location and for advertising cookies.

Your rights

You have the right to ask for a copy of any personal information we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to object to or restrict how it is used, and to withdraw consent at any time. Email josh@clark-online.co.uk and we will reply within one month. If you are unhappy with our response you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

Children

The site is written for adults in farming communities and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it was last changed.
